Even the most advanced machines need a scheduled tune-up to stay at peak performance. At DTI, we believe the same applies to our greatest asset: our people.

To kick off 2026 with the high-octane energy this year demands, the DTI family stepped away from the screens and headed for the coast. From January 16th to 18th, we traded the office buzz for the sound of crashing waves, embarking on a 3-day journey to the hidden gems of West Java: Batu Karas, Madasari Pangandaran.

From the Asphalt to the Ocean

Our journey wasn’t just about the destination, but it was also about the transition. Moving “from the asphalt to the ocean” served as a literal and metaphorical shift. As we left the city heat behind, the open road gave us the space to breathe, talk, and shift our focus from “tasks” to “togetherness.”

Whether it was the wind in our hair during the ride or the shared pit stops along the way, the journey reminded us that we move faster, and further, when we’re in sync.

Finding Our Flow in Batu Karas & Madasari

Batu Karas greeted us with its legendary laid-back surf vibes, while the rugged beauty of Madasari provided the perfect backdrop for reflection.

We didn’t just sit back, but we also dived in. From catching waves on the longboards to exploring the dramatic rocky coastlines, the trip was a blend of adrenaline and serenity. These weren’t just “tourist moments”, they were opportunities to see our colleagues in a new light. Out here, titles don’t matter, what matters is who’s got your back in the water and who’s making everyone laugh the hardest.

More Than Just a Retreat: It’s Maintenance

It’s called by maintenance, because high-performance teams can’t run on empty. Strengthening our bond through shared laughs and refreshing our minds is what allows us to tackle the complex challenges of the digital world.

This retreat was our way of ensuring that our “internal hardware”, means our culture, our trust, and our shared vision is as polished as the tech we build. We’re returning to the office not just rested, but realigned.
