On Sunday, July 5, 2026, the entire team of Desain Teknik Indonesia came together for our annual outdoor activity, Spiritual MQ & Team Building, at Eco Pesantren Daarut Tauhiid in Bandung. The event, Spiritual MQ & Team Building, brought us into the open air to strengthen something essential: the people behind it.
Organized in collaboration with DT Insani, the day combined outdoor challenges, reflective practice and spiritual guidance into a single journey designed to build trust, character and teamwork.

More Than a Team Building Activity
For an engineering company, precision and technical excellence are only part of the story. Behind every checking fixture, jig fixture or CMM program is a team that needs to communicate clearly, trust one another and move toward a shared goal.
That is the idea behind Spiritual MQ & Team Building. The program was designed to:
- Strengthen trust and communication among team members
- Build leadership and collaboration skills through real, physical challenges
- Nurture character and spiritual reflection alongside professional growth
Rather than a single icebreaker or a short workshop, the day unfolded as a full journey, moving from opening remarks to outdoor exercises and quiet reflections.
A Journey Built in Stages
The day began with an opening session led by Ust. K. H. Abdullah Gymnastiar (A Agym), followed by a shared prayer and a group photo, setting the tone for what would follow.
From there, the team moved through a series of activities, each built around a specific lesson:
From Horseback Riding and Archery we learned that leadership is not about force, but about earning trust. Working with horses required calm, consistency and clear, quiet communication, qualities that translate directly into how a team works together. Archery, meanwhile, became a lesson in focus, discipline and self-control, reinforced through group reflection after each round.
Blind Lead, Serva Walk and Balloon Tower revealed how much a team’s success depends on more than individual skill. Blind Lead showed how clear direction, active listening and mutual trust make the difference between confusion and confident coordination, echoes of the decision-making needed every day at work. Serva Walk turned the focus toward care and support, emphasizing servant leadership, empathy and a shared commitment to growing together, values just as important as competence itself. And in the Balloon Tower challenge, under real time pressure, teams were tested on shared vision, clear role division, adaptive leadership and creativity, all at once.
Reflection and Closing
After the afternoon prayer, the team gathered for a session of muhasabah, a quiet moment of self-reflection and gratitude, before renewing their intentions to bring their best selves into their work and collaboration.
